The UK has released the details of its Global Tariff Regime, which will be its policy from 1 January 2021. The tariffs on key inputs to the production of goods will be removed. Tariffs on certain goods will be rounded down. Almost 50% of products will enjoy zero tariff, compared to 27% in the EU’s CET (Common External Tariff). The British Government is currently negotiating with the EU for a trade agreement with zero tariffs and zero quotas.
